1928 Fleet All-Weather

This cycle is a later Fleet All-Weather dating from about 1928. Frame number P7831.

The All-weather models were painted black all over, with no plated parts. They had valanced mudguards and oil bath chaincases. Despite the very poor condition of this cycle, luckily it still had the original mudguards and chaincase. In fact, it was mostly original.

It had been in an accident at some time. The top tube and downtube were both bent, as was the steering stem and the front section of the front mudguard had been snapped off. The late Dave Pinkerton put in two new tubes and straightened it all out.

It has a 3-speed Sturmey-Archer gear, rebuilt for me by Chris Hewitt at Harpenden.

Handlebars have the screw-in ferrules for the brake levers.
